EU Jobs had no prior experience hiring from Indonesia, and the team faced significant skepticism, particularly around hiring candidates from Muslim-majority countries. Concerns ranged from cultural compatibility to assumptions about work restrictions. Gapai stepped in not only as a recruiter, but also as an educator and bridge-builder, explaining Indonesia’s diverse work culture, how Muslim workers maintain productivity across roles, and how values like discipline, adaptability, and hospitality are deeply ingrained in the Indonesian workforce.
